We spent an hour at the local cemetery yesterday and it was amazing - something you should for sure make time for in your next trip to Mexico. The cemetery's are jammed with large, ornate grave stones and small mausoleums. In typical Mexican fashion there is an abundance of colour - some of the graves are painted bright pink or blue, others are decorated with giant plastic bouquets and wreaths, pictures of the Virgin of Guadalupe scattered everywhere. I found the small mausoleums the most interesting, with their tributes to the life of the person passed, contained in small private worlds.
