A few things around here:

1_Pretty Acne zipper pouches at Totokaelo
2_The best fortune I've ever received. I have so many wishes for this year - I wonder which one is my most memorable and happy?
3_My very first shellac! I have never bothered with manicures before because I work with my hands (dyeing fabrics can get messy, fast) and I'm a nail biter. But so far it's been a week and my nails look as good as the day they were painted. Success!
4_My grandfather's retirement watch - I just need to get the strap shortened and then this will be a daily accessory
5_Birthday shoes! Most days I dress like a tomboy but even I couldn't resist the out of control jewel action on these Vera Wang flats - a perfect way to dress up white tees and vintage Levi's.
6_A new Libro Grande clutch print which, along with an updated Bright Nights print, will be available in a month or so...

ESSENTIALS

Recently I've been trying to streamline my formerly huge purse into something small and light - carrying with me only the essentials (although seeing that I lug around three cream blushes maybe 'essentials' is the wrong word). These days if I can't fit everything in my pockets or a S&C clutch I know I've got too much with me. Pictured above is what goes with me pretty much everywhere:

1_My phone in a Society 6 case
2_My S&C notebook where I jot down pretty much everything to do with the business
3_Cream blushes - Fat & the Moon, Korres and NARS
4_A small zipper pouch wallet
5_Illesteva sunglasses (although since moving to the PNW this seems more like wishful thinking than an essential item to have with me at all times. Maybe they are acting more as a sunshine evoking talisman??)

SEATTLE

Seattle was lovely - we had perfect weather and spent most of our time wandering the city on foot and eating (way too much) great food. The highlight was finally getting to see the lovely shop Totokaelo in person - it did not disappoint. Luckily I'll have the opportunity to visit a few more times this spring since I feel like I barely scratched the surface of what the city has to offer...

SEATTLE BOUND

(A few things I'm working on for Spring and some beautiful feathers I found while on my last run.)

I'm off to Seattle today for a few days with a friend. I haven't been in probably 8 years so, despite the rain, I'm feeling pretty excited. I'll take pictures along the way and share when we get back.

AROUND HERE

It has been a month since I moved back home to Vancouver and, while I'm really enjoying being back, setting up has been slower than I had originally hoped. I've been gone for over 4 years and the city has really changed in that time - here are some photos taken as I rediscover my hometown and find a place for S&C to (hopefully) thrive:

4_ The lights at YVR - I was planning on being in LA this past weekend but, flying standby, I didn't make my flight. I had plenty of time to appreciate the design details of the airport while waiting...

6_ A beautiful ottoman covered in a kilim rug at a local upholstery shop.

LE MARCHE ST. GEORGE

A few weeks ago a friend took me to Le Marche St. George - one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever been to in Vancouver. I couldn't stop thinking about it and was delighted to find they have an equally cute website filled with beautiful photos of the store space, events held and the general goings on of their business. They even rent out a gorgeous suite above the shop that any visitor to the city would be lucky to stay in. Make sure to stop in the next time you are in the city - it's a little out of the way but well worth the trip.
