SEATTLE WEEKEND

13MAY.SEA.0113MAY.SEA.0213MAY.SEA.0313MAY.SEA.0413MAY.SEA.0513MAY.SEA.0613MAY.SEA.0713MAY.SEA.0813MAY.SEA.0913MAY.SEA.1013MAY.SEA.1113MAY.SEA.12

I spent the weekend with a friend in Seattle and it, of course, did not disappoint. With only 24 hours in the city and no car most of our time was spent downtown visiting the Seattle Art Museum, the central public library (so amazing) and the market (market highlight was not men throwing fish but an eclair from Le Panier). We also made it up to Capitol Hill to peruse through vintage shops and the inspiring boutique Totokaelo. Our last night in the city we ate at the always amazing Belltown restaurant Local 360.

Thanks to everyone who sent me suggestions for the trip - we visited as much as we could in such a short amount of time!

ESSENTIALS : THANK YOU, OK

KATIE.THANKYOU.02

What better way to kick off Memorial Day weekend than with an 'Essentials' post? This time we are lucky enough to get to peek into the bag (our Libro Clutch in gold leather) of the talented Katie Merchant known to most as the woman behind the beautiful blog thank you, ok. Katie shares below what she doesn't leave home without:

This clutch is the perfect size to keep essentials in - here's what I like to keep with me:
- My Karen Walker Super Duper sunglasses - I've had these for a few seasons now and don't think I'll ever tire of them.
- A pen and my MMMG day planner, which is a little reminder of the time I spent living in Seoul.
- Always lipstick, right now it's this pink one by Tom Ford that I got for Valentine's Day last year.
- Keys, which are attached to a little Baggu pouch that keeps headphones, subway tokens, etc., and my little pizza keychain.
- I'm currently using this cookie pouch as a wallet - it's a great conversation piece, haha.

PS. If you are planning a trip to Seoul, Korea make sure to check out Katie's excellent city guide over on Design Sponge.

The ink, as it settles into the water, is so beautiful during the marbling process I couldn't help but take a few pictures.

STUDIO

Slowly but surely we are settling into our new studio. I share the space with a sock and jewellery designer and it's fun to see what each of us brings to our own corners (among many still unpacked boxes). This weekend I took a break from the gorgeous summer weather to set up my new washer and dryer - now dyeing fabrics can happen in earnest!

PASTEL PRISM

pastelprism.01pastelprism.02pastelprism.03pastelprism.04pastelprism.05

I was saving this scarf for when I did my next photoshoot but with no foreseeable shoot date set yet I figured it would be better to get it in the shop and out into the (hot and sunny) world sooner rather than later.

Introducing the our Pastel Prism silk scarf! Aerial imagery of riverbeds and oceans mirrored and layered over tie dye patterning. The palette is light and pretty peaches, creams, greys and blues and the silk is so, so soft. It measures 44" x 44" and is the perfect summer accessory/beach blanket/sarong! As a quick note - there is a very definite front and back on this scarf (as you can see in the last photo) but when wrapped around your neck I think it adds to the light palette and soft layers. I hope you enjoy - this is one of my all time S&C faves....
