As I wrote about on Saturday I've been eyeing 'urban turbans' as an option for both winter style and head warmth. I felt a bit intimidated to sport anything that is referred to as a turban but thought I would test it out with a homemade special, crafted from old S&C scarf material. I wore it on Saturday night (although only for a very brief commute) and found it totally warm and not as awkward as I had expected and then I put it in my coat pocket and promptly forgot about it. Whoops. So my test fell a bit short but DID give me the confidence to continue donning my urban turban throughout the fall/winter season.
And on another note - holy crap holiday rush!! I have to say that sales have HUGELY picked up in the last week. Of course, it's lead up to holiday season, why am I surprised? That said I wasn't doing S&C last Christmas and I am totally unprepared and am now (happily) sewing from dawn until the wee hours of the morning to get stuff in the shop. I wanted to just say a quick thank-you for your energetic S&C purchasing - you are putting a smile on my face and food in my belly - but also wanted to let you know that the blog is going to be a bit quiet while I focus on sewing for the next few weeks. I'll resurface soon, I promise!
