A few years ago my grandmother gave me the bracelet she wore when my grandfather was in the war (on the back it's engraved, 'Mae, with love Walter') as well as the pin he wore on his beret. They are some of my most cherished possessions and I thought very appropriate to photograph this Remembrance Day. This is the first year my grandfather isn't walking in the Veterans parade in his hometown - he's a bit too shaky to make it through the long day. My mom and her sisters are spending the day with him and I wish I was on the other side of the country to be there too.
