V and I have both been vegetarian since birth and were spoiled by mother's that were great cooks as well as nutritionally aware - completely essential if you aren't getting protein, iron and other useful stuff from meat. Now that we live on our own our daily food group intake is, sadly, a little less balanced (and in my case a little more chocolate focused). In the last year I've become more interested in cooking (I think it was maybe the turning of 30?) but with most cookbooks out there focused on meat dishes I haven't really turned to published recipes to build my repertoire. Lucky for us my good friend Julie just bought us the PLENTY cookbook by Yotam Ottolenghi as a housewarming gift! An entire cookbook focused solely on vegetarian cooking AND with pictures so lush and sumptuous they make me want to spend every hour of the day in the kitchen.

PS. You can see by my hands I've spent some days painting our new apartment - I'll post photos once we have our furniture in place...

PPS. How much do you love my new hardwood floors!? I'm in heaven...
