Yesterday V and I spent some time in the Pitillal, the area of town built solely for locals, and where you can buy ANYTHING for under $20. We were on a hunt for pieces of V's upcoming Halloween costume (I know it is only May but the man plans ahead...) and managed to stumble into some great street markets along the way. The top photo is of a juice bar where I mistakenly ordered a fruit plate instead of a fruit smoothie and received a small pink bag filled with a bag of yoghurt, a bag of honey (second picture), a bag of granola and, of course, a large bag of fruit. Delicious and yet incredibly awkward to eat - yoghurt in a bag? From there we headed to a street market that for once was selling used clothing - I managed to grab both a new backpack AND a white tank top to hold me over until we return to Canada. V found all the bits and bobs for his costume (the identity of which I am forbidden to divulge) and all in all it was a pretty successful day.
