AROUND HERE : TORONTO EDITION 2

In the last week I've been wandering the streets of Toronto (despite bone chilling wind) running errands, meeting with friends and experiencing the city in a way I never did while living here. How come it takes being a tourist to really search out the beauty in a place?

My mornings were spent most days at The Common drinking amazing coffee and wishing they were expanding their business to Vancouver. Ditto with the insanely yummy bakery Bakerbots - I kept meaning to shoot their gorgeous goods but always got too excited and scarfed everything down pre-picture.

I spent a morning at the AGO - I wanted to check out the Patti Smith photography exhibit and got sucked in to the rest of the gallery as a result. My favourite piece was 'The Forty Part Motet' by Janet Cardiff. She places 40 speakers in an oval and plays a recording of Salisbury Cathedral Choir singing a forty part English Renaissance motet - standing in it's center gave me goosebumps.

Wandering home I passed the ROM (which, embarrassingly I have never been to) and while poking around in a vintage shop stumbled into the prettiest fitting room I've seen in a long time.

Thanks for having me Toronto! Hopefully I'll be back for another visit soon...
