GALILEO'S MOON

As of today there is a new printed silk scarf in the spring collection! I actually designed this one before The Rorschach over the Christmas holidays but because of a series of printing/sample errors I've only been able to get it in the shop now.

I've called this composite Galileo's Moon because I utilized some of his original telescope and moon sketches to tie the piece together. The long triangles that are overlaying the three central moons are Galileo's designs/sketches of the telescope - supported by the copy on either side which apparently explains how the telescope works. Surrounding the moons are four large Victorian roses used here for no better reason than I think they're really pretty. I've also incorporated the astrological wheel - surrounding it with Galileo's sketches of different moon phases.

Each of these silk scarves is hand dyed a silvery violet which leaves the background subtly textured...
